Hey everyone! I just wanted to ask, can I use the Windows 7 drivers on Windows Vista? My cousin wants me to reinstall Windows on his computer but he wants Vista and we can't seem to find drivers for it.

Solution
actually many win 7 drivers work on vista. but you'll be playing a guessing game as to which ones.

what is the system and what drivers are you looking for? perhaps we can help find them. also note that windows update is pretty good about finding drivers now. even for vista. it is likely that many of them will be had when you first run windows update after the fresh install. the missing ones can then be tracked down as needed.

Not really, there are often mis-labeled, hard to find the correct one and attached to ads, best place to get drivers is directly from the vendor of the computer or the hardware parts once you look up the hardware ID.

In either case, if that system had Windows 7, you will not have a license for Vista to activate it or run it legally on that computer. Never mind that going from Win 7 to Vista by choice is a bit crazy even if you had drivers for it.

Vista is by no means as bad as it was the first few years of its life, granted its no longer supported or updated 90% of the issues were fixed after SP2 so if you take out the fact its not supported its not THAT crazy. But yeah it would be wiser to stick with 7 if possible or think about going to 8.1/10
