Cpu upgrade from i5 4460

What cpu should i upgrade to from a i5 4460 for 1080 144hz gaming? Currently very bottle necked on cpu intensive games. Should i upgrade to i7 4790k , 7700k, 77600k, or ryzen 1600x , 1700. Which one would be best to get the highest frame rate And is it worth it to upgrade to a 4790k since i don't need to buy new mobo and ram

Current system is

i5 4460
z97 mobo
gtx 1080
12gb ddr3 1600
240gb ssd
1tb wd blue
cx 600m powersupply

I would consider the 4790K. You already have a Z97, and you can overclock it to get even more performance. I would also consider getting maybe 16GB of RAM. Anything over 8GB is ok, but 16GB will go a long way.

Also what games and settings are you playing at?

playing battlefield 1 and 4 on ultra settings so will a 4790k be enough to run it at 140fps+ as my i5 could only get up to 80 fps

so i would not see any significant increase in fps if i went with the 7700k or ryzen 1700 over the 4790k
