Hey guys!

Two days ago I noticed a Trojan or other such virus when it typed to me while I was playing a game. I reset my pc and reinstalled windows, deleting and formatting the drives. It typed to me again in my internet browser.

Spent today letting DBAN overwrite my hard drive. Reinstalled windows (disk). Installed Avira, didn't catch anything, checked my netstat -ab and didn't see anything suspicious, but I'm no expert. The IPs I checked looked fine.

Thought I was free, but nah, has once again typed to me . Doesn't appear to be doing anything else but keylogging and I've taken steps to protect and change account info on another comp for sensitive info.

Only thing I haven't done anything with is the SSD. Any suggestions where this keylogger might be hiding? I'm not very tech smart myself

Things I reinstalled both times:
Avira
Guild wars 2
Discord
Chrome

Typing appeared afternoon I downloaded avast (lol)

And idk if this impacts things, but they always type "EXCUSEME EXCUSEME, IM U".

Also worthy of note is when I attempt to access my BIOS I experience a black screen. No idea how DBAN worked without disc boot but maybe it was already selected. My PC was custom built. I believe the bios issue is due to a screen mismatch rather than the virus but yeah.

any info required let me know. Very annoying for this to happen

Solution
A trojan would not have survived a DBAN wipe. You need to look at your source media/files for your OS, games, applications, etc. It is more likely one of them is the source for this infection.
