Have i damaged my GPU?

I have a old GTX580 which i tried to overclock just a tiny bit. Before i clocked my card i was running csgo at 200-250 fps and after only around 50-70 fps (i already set it back to factory settings not long after i overclocked) The thing is it never showed any sign of damage other than my fps suddenly being lower in every game i play.

I did +50mhz on core clock and about +100mhz on memory clock. I never touched the core voltage though.

As i have seen from other posts from my search, the closest i could come up with is that i have damaged my memory modules or something like that? Could this be the problem im having? Could that really cause my GPU to lower my fps in everything or is it something else?

I used MSI Afterburner for it.

If the memory was damaged you would have obvious artifacts or crashing, not simply a lower FPS.

A lower GPU frequency most likely suggest it is THROTTLING down. This sometimes happens as a protection feature and can be triggered by overclocking and can remain even after you reset things.

So I think it's actually a SOFTWARE issue.

The first thing I'd try is DDU, then reinstall the NVidia software:

(for DDU, use the "recommended" option which should temporarily end up in safe mode, reboot, then reinstall NVidia drivers.)

Thank you both very much. I first tried uninstalling my OC software as suggested and saw my FPS normalize again after.. It must have been throttling my card even when reset as photonboy said.

I can't seem to give both of you best solution, but you have my gratitude:)
