Is there diference in speed and durability in SSHD firecuda or Western Digital NAS specific hard drives for custom freenas machine? Are they worth the extra cost? Or is it better to go for more hd capacity and cheaper like Barracuda?

For a NAS box, you want NAS drives. No SSHD.
WD Red or Seagate IronWolf.

The IronWolf's are a particularly good buy right now.
4TB for $120 at Amazon.

I'm getting 4 for my Qnap NAS box.
