Just built a new computer yesterday, i7 7700k, asus maximus ix hero motherboard, corsair h100i v2 liquid cooler, and the case is nzxt h440. I'm getting 60 on idle and 80-95 while playing overwatch.

I haven't tried to overclock my cpu, but I did overclock my ram to 3200 mhz. However, when I did overclock my ram it had changed a setting saying something along the lines of "Changing from Auto to Sync All Cores" for my cpu. My fans are spinning, the radiator fans are at 1330 rpm and the case fan is at 800.

The 7th generation intel chips are know for overheating .Make sure your Cooler is working perfectly with all wires connected perfectly and if the fans are spinning or not. Also which thermal paste did you apply out of curiosity?

He is using corsair h100i v2 liquid cooler

I meant the fans that came with the AIO.

Yes, I plugged them into the cpu_fan header. My cpu core voltage is at 1.168 if that helps. In bios I'm at 42 celsius and when I get into windows I'm in 58-65 range. When I play overwatch I'm at 80-100

You need to reseat the CPU cooler, replace the thermal paste.

Did you plug in the radiator to the AIO_Pump header? If you didnt your cooler is getting only half the power which explains your low RPM fans

If reseating the cooler doesn't help, take off the front and top panels on the H440 and see if you get better temps.

I had that case and while it looks great, it has a very restricted airflow design and struggles to intake/exhaust efficiently.

With the panels off, I saw a 10c drop in temps.

It's why I changed it for a 780T instead.

I plugged the radiator fans to the cpu_fan header because that's what the manual wrote.

There should be a CPU OPT header right next to the CPU fan header.

The CPU OPT is for AIO's.

Is my cpu core voltage ok? It's at 1.168

as mentioned above, the 7700K's are known to run warm unless you get a good one out of the silicon lottery

best thing would be to reset bios to defaults, set recommended timings/volts to your ram then check temps

if still running quite warm, reseat the cooler with a fresh layer of tim

as i mentioned also, I found my system ran quite warm with that case, but not quite as warm as you're getting

Yeah mine runs cool on air at 4.8 GHz @ stock voltage.

29-31C idle and mid 70's stress testing.

Nope, right out of the box.

Noctua NH U12S cooler.

It will do 5.0 GHZ @ 1.45, but I would need better cooling for that, not enough performance difference to worry about though.

So I run it at 4.8 and I am happy.

Never see above mid 60's gaming etc.

I repeat. DO NOT CONNECT THE RAD to the CPU Header as it suppliers insufficient power to the cooler. I have the same board,CPU and cooler and I have connected my rad to the AIO Pump header. Both the fans are connected to the CPU Fan and CPU OPT headers

I'm sorry, but am i missing something here celpas?

The pump is connected via USB and Sata.

The fans are connected to the block with a splitter and the block is connected to CPU_Header.

This is so the block powers and controls the fans via Corsair Link, not the mobo.

If the fans are connected directly to CPU_Header & CPU_Opt, then the H100i is not controlling the fans, the bios is

The H100i V2 doesnt connect to the PSU as it doesnt have a SATA power connector and hence needs more power than the CPU Fan header can provide which is why Asus has the AIO Pump header on their mobos. If you connect the 2 fans to the block and connect the radiator to the CPU Fan header than the cooler doesnt get enough power and fans run at half RPM. Priority is to connect the rad to the AIO Pump header. Whether you want to connect the 2 fans to the block or the CPU fan header is your choice but personally I prefer my fans to be handled by the motherboard as Asus software is better than Corsair Link when it comes to changing settings.

Another one of my PCs has a Corsair H80i V2 and that had a separate SATA power connector to power the cooler and hence I was able to connect the block to the CPU fan header

Can I just say position and fan cute matter a lot on the corsair water coolers, I had high temps with 7700k, H115i cooler, temps were hitting high 85's or more under load, moved cooler and changed fan settings = 5.0ghz temps hover around 65c average with 1.300v
