My MBD is a Gigabyte B350 Gaming. I installed the updated bios so I could use W7. Since I used a USB drive, I thought I could boot from the USB drive. I even have the BIOS selected Boot Option #1: UEFI: SanDisk Extreme 0001, Partition 1. I kept getting the, "Reboot and Select proper Boot device..." message. So I did some googling.

I have the CD, but because my mouse and keyboard stop working do to the USB 2.0 problem, I can't go any further than the first load up. And I have no USB 2.0 keyboard and mouse. I tried to download the USB update to my USB drive, but my mouse scrambled the keyboard on my laptop will this was being done.

I'm getting tired. I feel lazy for asking, but it's been 4 hours and my googling and reading has stopped providing answrs. I just don't know what to do. I feel there's an easy system that someone who's been through this. I cut out a lot of trial and error in my post, but I'm running down mentally.

Solution
how did you created that windows 7 usb installer?

can you disable uefi and set it to legacy, disable secure boot, makes things alot more simple

for this mainboard i wouldn't use windows 7, i would use windows 10 only

I want to download it off of Amazon. Can I do this and load Windows 10 via USB drive? I really don't know what to do, and am lost. I'm looking for easy here. If Windows 10 is easier and ultimately better, then I'll do it.

Should I get a physical copy, or download it onto USB?

the physical media is a dvd, often most people doesn't have optical drives, download it to a usb form the link i mentioned it

amazon doesn't offer the file afik, or at least, if i can go to the source, i skip intermediaries, so use the tool, download the version they sold you and use it to install, about the other problems about usb i am not sure if i understood what you are experiencing there, most keyboard/mouse devices are usb 2 only and a usb 2 device should work on a usb 3 port, even if it doesn't have drivers for usb 3, or at least the hardware i encountered in the past behaves like this

I'll download from Microsoft. What do I do after that? I'm gonna avoid the USB issue until I stop throwing a pitty party for myself.
