So I'm fairly new to PC rigs and am very new to liwuid cooling. I recently bought a Corsair h100i v2 cooler to throw into my Phanteks P400 case (http://www.phanteks.com/Eclipse-p400.html). I can't place it on top of the case because it's blocked by the ram on the mobo, so I have to place it in the front. My question is this what is my best option for fan placement/setup?

I currently have the 2 fans that came with the cooler and 3 other blower fans. Besides the front, my case allows for two of these fans on top and one in the rear. Should I utilize all these slots with the 3 extra fans and which should be intake and which exhaust? In this case, should the radiator be between the 2 fans and case or should the fans be between the radiator and case?

I've also seen some people have fans on both sides of the radiator. Should I do this instead with two of my extra 3 fans and use the last either on top or in the rear?

Sorry for the silly questions, but I'm having trouble finding a good answer. Thank you!

well if you have the case exhausting through the radiator, you might be getting slightly higher temps due to the GPU which is likely kicking off some heat. you could just flip the fans around and run a pull configuration where they are now pulling outside air through the radiator, or you could dismount the whole thing and then go push, but this might only get you a few degrees C. balance the case so that you have three intake and one exhaust, or two and two.
Putting the radiator up front is fine. as for using the other two spots that is a good idea, as with a water cooler on, the VRMs on the motherboard will be getting less airflow than with an air cooler so those will help with that. I would either have the rear pull air in and the top exhaust or the other way around, it really does not matter too much, see how the fans act, some do not like being oriented certain ways.

Push pull setups really are not going to do a great amount on a thinnish radiator like that, the air flow over the VRMs is likely more useful.

Awesome. So with the rear fan taking air in and the upper fan blowing it out, should the fans on the radiator also be blowing the air out? Also, I noticed my uncle who helped me put the fans to where when I mount the radiator on the front, the fans are inside the case and the radiator sits between the fans and the case. Is that right or should the fans be on the outside between the radiator and the front? Sorry if that's a confusing way to put. Basically the way it's set up right now the fan is pulling air from inside the case and pushing it through the radiator outside. Should the fan be pulling the air from the radiator and then pushing it outside instead?
