Sorry if this has been answered, I did search.

Simple bit of newb question. As per the above is it worth upgrading to the GTX960 4GB?

Thanks

I recommend you only upgrade the GPU if you have games that will look noticeably better while maintaining a solid 60FPS.

ARMA 3 for example is one of the few games that even a good CPU still causes a big bottleneck, and 60FPS isn't possible AFAIK.

That's not really an upgrade. Sideways or possibly even a downgrade. The extra VRAM will be nice, but I wouldn't do it unless the lack of VRAM is your main issue in games.

Thanks to both. I haven't gamed on a PC since the mid 90's. Turned my self into a console peasant and trying to re-educate myself. How things have changed.

I upgraded from a GTX680 2GB, 3-slot OC card (nearly identical to GTX770) and went to a GTX1080 which is a huge upgrade.

HOWEVER.. I have a lot of games that I'd carefully tweaked which didn't really benefit much. It tended to mainly affect the most demanding games.

Even CRYSIS 3 ran pretty well, though it was a hassle to tweak on my GTX680 and there were times it would stutter. It looks BETTER now but not really that much.

Demanding games like AC Unity work a lot better though.

Alright thanks to all, never figured so many people would be so helpful.
Mainly I'm looking to play Dayz, yes well aware of EA, Arma 3 and probably PUBG. I've got BF1 on console, that my boy plays as well, so happy for that to stay where it is for now.
I've checked the min req for the above 3 games but I want to run them decently and I don't think my graphics card will handle them too well.
So I'm looking for advise for the best suited one.

Also got mixed up I have I7 3820 it overclocked 4.2Ghz. Asrock Extreme4 x79 16gb Ram 770GTX 2Gb.
Thanks to all again.
