I got some pencil lead on my CPU socket pins

I had three bent pins on the side of the socket, and being stupid and impatient, I used a pencil (couldn't find a needle or pin) and the lead to fix the pins. Now, my CPU has not arrived yet, so I don't know if I screwed something up; however, the area where I was fixing my pins looks a bit dark from the lead, so I'm just wondering if I can do something about that or does it not matter?

It can matter very much as pencil lead conducts electricity. Back in the day it was used to unlock locked CPUs for overclocking by creating a carbon bridge between certain parts of the cpu. Point being you need to make sure you get all of the pencil lead off your socket or you run the risk of damaging both your CPU and motherboard when you power up.
