Hey everyone, recently built a new pc and it's been sweet except when over clocking..
Overclocking the CPU is a breeze and no problem but when it comes to the RAM, my computer usually just boots with EZDEBUG on "DRAM" red and reads "No display" on screen. No bios boot or nothing! I have to pull my cpu and re-thermal paste it and it is a pain in the butt! I returned 2 sets of Corsair vengeance initially thinking I fried the RAM and because my motherboard compatability was 2933 mhz or 3200mhz. I also saw somewhere 3000mhz ram should not be used. I am now using G.Skill Trident Z 2x8 3200mhz ram and still no luck..
System specs
CPU:Ryzen 1500x
Mobo: B350M MORTAR MSI
Ram: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Z170 Platform Desktop Memory F4-3200C16D-16GTZKW
SSD: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 1TB SATA III
Video card: GTX 750Ti
Windows 10
So after receiving the third stick of ram I see the timing on the back it reads "16 18 18 38 1.35v"
This confused me because in the MSi mobo it reads 5 values. I watched a vid on toms hardware where he overclocks ram and just extended the second digit so I put "16 18 18 18 38 1.35v"
The pc restarts and just sits at "No display" with EZdebug on Dram. The computer doesn't even continue to restart and boot me back into bios I have to cpu pull the entire thing... Please help tech gurus!! Is my motherboard garbage?
A-XMP Profile also puts it into "No display mode" I have updated the mobo to the latest version according to site. 7A37V14
I also oc the cpu to 3.5ghz at 1.35v if that makes a difference.
