OK, my problem is this...Can I use my brand bew CPU with only an HDMI cable connected to my (old) monitor and my Motherboard MSI z170A Gaming M3? If yes, How? I tried the different settings in my monitor but it doesn't display anything. My motherboard doesn't have VGA so it is either HDMI to HDMI or DVI-D to VGA (But the case is, there is no cable like DVI-D to VGA). What should I do. One man said I should start it onboard but how? When I couldn't connect it to any monitor?? Thanks..

Solution
To connect an old VGA-only monitor to an HDMI output on your PC, see this thread:

Only other option is to buy a new monitor which has an HDMI port.
You would probably want to replace your old monitor with a higher spec one anyway if you're going to be gaming on it. Something with a better response time and a better screen for sharper images.

If you need advice or recommendations for a good gaming monitor, post on the "Displays" forum.
