Athlon x2 II 250 to Fx 6350?

I have an Athlon ii x2 250 processor and i want to upgrade it is the Amd fx 6350 a good choice?

It is but your MB also has to support FX processors. Socket is AM3+ for FX processors. no other would work so, which MB do you have ?

i have the Asus M4A78LT-M LE

EDIT: What gpu would you recommend? i am thinking about the gtx 970 or Rx 460
