I just bought Intel 7th gen Core i7-7700 processor a week ago and its temperature is touching 76 and some time even 82 degree Celsius(on stock cooler). Before I had intel core i5-4570(stock cooler) and its temperature was 75 degree Celsius even on playing games and running Android Studio(eg: emulators).

is this temperature normal for i7-7700? even I open the casing.

Should I buy a cooler to decrease the temperature.

Solution
75-80C under load with the stock cooler is fine. You can thank Intel deciding to use a thicker than necessary paste layer between the die and IHS for that as it is responsible for ~15C of that temperature. The CPU is basically designed to get hot.

Yes, temps are fine with the stock cooler, but get the aftermarket cooler.

Your temps will be better.

Temps may get better but there aren't any benefit other than peace of mind if you are worried about them when you aren't overclocking. There is the hypothetical "longer CPU life" but semiconductors seldom fail on their own when operated within their design specs. They are far more likely to die from a VRM/PSU failure or getting zapped by ESD on an IO pin.
