Can I play game audio through speakers and chat audio through headset when playing on steam?

When I play games on steam I use a headset and discord to talk to my friends, but is there any way to get the game audio through my speakers and only the chat audio through my headset. Is it possible to do this using discord?

Yes, that is what I do. I have my default sound device set as my speakers, than I set my voice app (teamspeak) to output sound to my headset, discord should have the same ability in its options. However it is worth noting I am using a USB headset so it registers as a different sound device, something plugged into the 3.5mm jacks on the PC will not work if the speakers are also using them. You would need another sound card.

yea i'm using 3.5mm jacks, i'm assuming there's no splitter that can send two signals to two different devices from one sound card.
