Howdy,

I just built a new gaming/general purpose rig over the weekend. I went with the recommended $1250 "Gamer's Delight" build that includes the i5-7600k and GTX 1070. So far I am... absolutely delighted coming from an old rig with an i7-860 and GTX 260 graphics card! I also replaced my ancient HP vs17 monitor with a 24" Dell 1440p 144hz g-sync S2417DG. So far this seems like an awesome combo!

How do I overclock the processor with the mobo and Cryorig H5 Ultimate cooler? This is my first build and first foray into overclocking.

Who has the best prices on games these days? I haven't bought a new game in a long time and want to start with Battlefield 1 I think, being into WW1 and a former soldier myself.

Thanks!

Well make sure everything is stable and temps are good at stock speed.

Update the BOIS.

Best to start with the preset overclocks in the bois 1st.

Enable XMP.

Click on CPU upgrade and a drop down menu will appear, choose I5 7600K at a lower overclock 1st.
Make sure that is stable and boots into windows.

Run a few tests to make sure.

If it's stable...

Go back into the bios and CPU upgrade, choose I5 7600K and next one faster on the list.

See if Windows boots.

Run some tests.

Check temps etc, run Prime 95 version 26.6.

If all is good you can leave it there or push on.

Thanks. I may not need to overclock it since I bought Battlefield 1 today and it runs really well as is. I am very impressed with the system and still exploring its capabilities.
