Motherboard is the ASRock AB350M-HDV, CPU Ryzen 5 1600 at stock clock, wraith spire cooler, 16GB of team elite plus ddr4 2400mhz.worked fine last night with no issues. Turned it off, went to turn it on this morning and now it only will go as far as the ASRock splash screen. Pressing del or F2 does nothing. Tried removing motherboard battery, no change. Unhooked hard drive sata, and it boots into bios no problem. Has a fresh install of windows. Did my hard drive randomly die?

So without the HDD installed, everything appears to work as intended?

Removing the motherboard battery would clear the CMOS, resetting your BIOS settings to default. If anything was configured in there (secureboot, fastboot, CSM/legacy support) and has been reverted, you're not likely to boot into the OS (depending on the settings). Try to make any changes you remember (or load a profile if you gave it a name) and try to boot from the HDD.

Failing that, you could use Windows recovery media to see if it can repair the install for you.

Chances of the HDD dying = unknown. It's definitely a potential cause for what you're experiencing.....usually there's symptoms beforehand, but not always.
