Absolutely impossible to find an mATX case that fits my requirements.

I have exhausted all of my research and googling capabilities trying to find a mATX case that conforms to my specifications. I have been searching for almost a week now.

I just built a new rig and have leftover old parts. Instead of selling those parts, I want to recycle them in a slim case that isn't wider than 5 inches. I don't have much room on my desk except for behind the monitors that doesn't allow more than 5 inches for a case or else it will hit my monitors.

My huge disadvantage comes in 2 parts,

1) I have an AM3+ FX 8370e and as far as I know, Mini-ITX boards are not available for the AM3+ socket because the TDP is too high for those boards and that's why I can only do mATX.

2) I don't have a low-profile card that most of these slim cases need. I have an EVGA GTX 760 that has a length of 241 mm.

Like I said I've looked everywhere and can't find a case that fits these requirements. If anyone could please help, I would so so so greatly appreciate a recommendation.

Hi, Sedivy. Thanks for your reply. I have checked out all of silverstones mATX slim cases. The slim ones that stand up all have GPU length restrictions that only allow for low-profile GPU's. So my 241 mm 760 won't fit in there. Most of the horizontal cases don't have this issue, but I simply don't have the space on my desk for a wide case. I could try to find solutions to this if nothing else works.

The first coolermaster one looks great, but I run into the same GPU problem. Lian-Li is out of my price range lol. But that 4th thermaltake one might be the one I'm looking for. I've looked at this case before, but didn't like the height/design. It actually doesn't look half bad and I think the width (5.5) might be a little too big, but I have to double check because I think it could work.

If you want total enclosure then that might be the way to go. Have you considered putting the GPU in its own enclosure? Been a while since I have seen one, but there was a company making a ribbon to expansion slot, to cable, to expansion slot, for a full speed PCIe external GPU.

I'll see if I can track it down out of curiosity.

Nothing reasonably priced. One neat one that isn't that expensive looks like was tailored for putting a discrete sound card in an external box. Basically $200 and up for a decent PCIe expansion box.

Hey Eximo, thanks for the reply. I wouldn't want to do an external GPU just because I seriously don't have any place to put it haha. I have my case on my desk with 3 monitors and a desk lamp that leave very little room for anything except for behind the monitors. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it!
