I have one 128gb ssd from adata and one 500gb ssd from wd blue. I recently discovered raid 0 and I want to try it out with these two drives but the articles I have read mention identical drives, will it work with these two?

Yes; you can RAID 0 them, but it will only work off the smaller of the two drives, that is 128x2=256GB array. You're better off using them separately as RAID 0 on SSD provides insignificant real-world performance increase.
