Hi guys..Im throwing a pc together..I actually have 2 Sata III SSDs by Samsung. One has 1tb and the other has 250gb.

The pc is built for gaming..and I guess Im wondering if it would be better to install OS and Games/programs on the 1tb as main drive and a backup/storage on the other?

Or do the traditional OS on the 250gb and programs/games on the 1tb?

Solution
I'd use the 1Tb as storage/full backup. You'll be able to do a complete backup of the 250 onto the 1Tb, but if you start using the 1Tb up, you'll be stuck with more data than the 250 will comfortably hold if done the other way. Also, if you ever have to dump the 250 and replace it, it's a damned sight cheaper than loosing the 1Tb and all its accumulated stuff.

Your games will take up more space than the OS and applications.

250GB - OS and applications
1TB - Games, videos, music, etc.

Support what....3 drives?
Sure it can.
"4 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s)"

Oh yeah..I suppose that shouldnt be an issue. I know the Corsaire 450D only has 3x ssd slots..but 3 others for hdds

Lucky you. My MSI Z77 has just 2x 6Gb Sata ports and 4x 3Gb Sata ports. Although honestly, with the size of an SSD, my fractal design R5 can realistically fit 22 SSDs and not use anything other than 8x bays, 2x optical and the 2x behind the mobo. Just have to be a little creative. Right now I have my hdd in one optical bay, ssd behind the mobo and an optical in the top optical bay.

I do have 2x ssd bays behind the mb as well.. 3x hdd bays and 2 optical..so one spare optical and 3 hdd bays..but the hdd bays cover up the front fans and I took the bays out to increase airflow.

So I suppose I could grab a hdd as a backup drive..but then I have a wierd combo of hard drives lol..

1x 1tb ssd
1x 250gb ssd
1x 250gb hdd

Lol..i dunno

Hmm..not a bad idea. Wonder if I can get it to mount in there somehow

Just for consistency, I always put the boot drive in the lowest number SATA port. 0 or 1.
After that, it doesn't usually matter.

Not in the slightest. I've seen many mount an SSD to the top of the psu fake cover. Think Amazon even sells converter kits to mount ssd/hdd in a 5¼ bay. It's a case, merely a box to hold the pc componentry secure. What you do with it is only limited by your skills, determination and ability to use tools. Not unheard of to extend the mobo mount screws via long standoffs of some sort, stick a piece of abs plastic on top and sky-mount an SSD underneath the gpu. Case limits are only for those who insist on stock locations.
