Hi all, I'm new to PC gaming and trying to decide on a new system. I was a console gamer and need some expertise. I've narrowed it down to one of two mini-PCs. Either the Zotac EN1060 or the Alienware i7 R2. I'll put the only things that change (would be the same SDD)
Specs:
Alienware Alpha R2
-16GB Ram 2133
-Intel® Core™ i7 6700T Processor (Quad-Core, 8MB Cache, up to 3.6GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
-NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX960 GPU 4GB GDDR5
Zotac
-Intel Core i5-6400T (quad-core, 2.2 GHz, up to 2.8 GHz)
-GeForce® GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 192-bit
-32GB ram

I'm just wondering which would be the best between the two.

Hmmm, that's a tough choice.

Alienware Alpha R2 has a powerful CPU with high amount of compute power and can help you multitask with your everyday needs including some other extreme things plus you have 16gb ram. The drawback is that you have the GTX 960 but it is still a good card but compared to the GTX 1060 it lags by 49% in Games 80+% in General Purpose and 49% Overall Speed. (based from GPU Userbenchmark).

On the otherhand, the Zotac one contains a fair CPU but compared to the i7 6700 its basically beaten in terms of overall cpu power. However, with 32gb ram and a GTX 1060 gaming and using programs that are ram hungry would easily be dealt with such as virtual machines, IDEs, and etc.

In my opinion, if you value gaming despite...

In my opinion, if you value gaming despite the noticeable difference in CPU power I'd go the Zotac way. But if you value overall performance not just in games I'd go with the Alienware because it has the i7 and GTX 960 is still a competitive card to use right now.
