Hi everyone, I'm upgrading a PC for a friend and wanted to make sure that the parts wouldn't be too much for the 350 watt psu inside the PC currently. Here are the specs as follows:

CPU: Core i3-2100 @3.1Ghz
GPU: HD 6870
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Storage: 500GB 7200rpm hard drive
DVD burner

Will this power supply be able to safely power this system? Thanks.

That GPU is gonna be a problem for you, unless its a GOOD 350w unit (by good I mean Seasonic, thats about it), I would definitely not run it. I would go for a solid 500w unit because of the GPU.

If you don't want to risk it I would go for 400, I recommend finding the exact parts through PCpartpicker and seeing how much all parts together require. Then just give leverage.

I made a little list of this here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kKGNVY

It says 245 but you gotta think about the mobo, and if you are ever going to add any other storage. If you don't really care too much then 350 should be fine but I'd try to stay in a safe area where you can add more storage without worries.
