Hi,
I have a computer who's processor fan speed is running constantly at high speeds even at boot up and idle. To ensure this is not a over heating issue, I checked the temperature with SpeedFan and CPUI HWMonitor and both read CPU temperature 40 degrees and fan speeds are over 4500 rpm.
I decided to replaced the RAM, update Bios, Clear CMOS, updated power manager and changed Thermal Sensor. After all that I still have the same issue with the CPU fan running at high speeds. Then I remove the heat sink, replaced the thermal paste and that also did not make a difference. I checked task manager and system idle process is 99, which proves nothing is running in the back ground to cause the fan to run at high speeds at idle. I even checked for virus and malware and found nothing.
What other ideas I could try to solve this issue?
Specs:
M72e Lenovo Thinkcentre
Intel Quad-Core i5-3470 Processor
Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)
