Hi guys, I currently have B150m motherboeard with pentium g4500, 8GB ram and gtx 1050ti. I was planning to upgrade to i5 7500 but the recent release of Ruzen got me confused. I am wondering if I should get Ryzen 5 1500X and Gigabyte b350m gaming 3 or just buy the i5 7500 and maybe some ram? Also would there be any drawbacks by the fact that the motherboard is b150 and not b250? Thanks in advance!

In your situation, I think you should stick with Intel and just continue to upgrade there.
AMD Ryzen CPUs are really great, but if you're going to rebuild again from scratch, It's probably not worth it.

You could easily upgrade your current processor to an i5 7500, as long as your board's BIOS is updated in the latest version you're good to go. :D

The only difference I see between B150 and B250 motherboards is that in B250 chipset you most likely have more features such as capability for m.2 storage and more pci-e lanes. So in terms of performance there's really no noticeable difference.
