As the title asks. Recently about a week ago built my new PC w/ GTX 1060 and i5 7600 with a CM GeminII M4 on top (in slim Bitfenix Pandora case). Im not even playing max (Med to High) on GTA and Im getting 85-92c. This is w/ a Corsair SP120 on it @ 3000RPM. Should I replace it with a Corsair H80i v2? My local supplier has it at 30% off now and I hear it has the best bang for buck.

P.S only shitty CM and Raijintek air coolers are available here in South Africa

Yeah its for sure a better option since you said its hard to find good air coolers where your from. 30% off is a good deal too. I would grab it!

That CPU shouldn't be getting that hot with that kind of cooler.
I would reseat the cooler and reapply the thermal paste and make sure its mounted correctly.
Did you remember to remove the protective plastic strip from the surface of the cooler before installing it?

Yep, made sure and reinstalled with same result

And that's under load too? That's very odd. The stock cooler should even perform better than that. I guess you should get the H80 then. If you still have the same temps after you get it then I would say their may be a problem with how the temps are being reported, motherboard/cpu.
