Hi. My computer has been behaving abnormally lately. Quite often, almost at every boot, there will be instants like playing a game, or booting, or browsing the web, when my computer would turn off, no "Shutting down", no "Restarting", "no BSOD". Even the LEDs in the fans go off. Now a second later, the PC powers up again and this problem repeats.

For example, I attempted to create this thread with my PC, but I had to switch devices because of that same problem.

PC Specs:
PSU: Corsair VS650
CPU: Intel i3 2120 @ 3.3 GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1
RAM: HyperX Fury 1x4GB
HyperX Savage 1x4GB
GPU: Zotac GTX 760 2GB GDDR5

Could this be a motherboard issue? (Since you said that hardware problems allow a BSOD)
Okay. Thanks. Would buying a UPS help?

You could buy one but make sure the store has a good return policy incase the new power supply doesn't help. (Like I said it could be the motherboard and less likely but still possible.. the cpu.)

Lately, I talked to a guy and he said it could be a RAM problem, so I am testing both memory modules one at a time... I'll let you know ASAP. Thanks. :)

So I tested, the problem persists in both cases. In fact, I even checked all the connections to the motherboard, but the problem is still there. I'll try a UPS now. It is gonna take a few days, I'll update this thread ASAP. Thanks. :)

I think I know what the problem is. The power supply is FILLED with dust. In my old cabinet, the airflow was poor so I usually kept the cabinet open. So that probably filled it with dust.

However I might have to open the PSU, and I'm afraid I might destroy it. Is it safe?

Update: I did remove my PSU and clean it well with a compressed air can. The problem still persists.

i would just get a new psu id suggest one from corsair whatever one you like

What if the PSU is not the problem? What if it is the motherboard? I am a little shallow on funds here. Could you please advise any method to determine the cause?

Update: I have been monitoring the events in the 'Event Viewer' and noticed 3 specific errors few seconds before the crash. Please see the screenshot.
