Question about ram speed in new gaming rig

So im planning to build a new gaming rig sooner or later as mine is getting on a bit now.
The build im planning so far goes as follows:
CPU: Core i5-7600K
GPU: GTX 1070 8GB
Mobo: Asus Prime Z270-P
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) (3000mhz)
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM650X
So my question is: will 3000mhz ram be beneficial over lower ram speeds in this particular build?
Also, if you want to suggest any changes that would make it better then feel free.
Also, are any of these parts overkill?

Good build so far but where's your SSD?

With that rig you won't see much difference in gaming going with 3000 vs. 2666/2400, etc., but if you've got the extra few $$ might as well go for it.

Overkill for what...? How much future-proofing do you want out of this rig? It's going to be extremely powerful and may be a bit of an 'overkill on your wallet' but only you can decide that.
