Hey,
I've finally got this game - i've wanted it for a long time.
I've got my specs in my sig. I've a 980ti and i7-4790k... 16gb of ram.

I ran the benchtest with all settings on very high and motion blur, vignette blur, depth of field and v-sync off.
Here's my result:

I'm using a 144hz monitor (non g-sync)
Should i enable v-sync triple buffered? Will i constantly ping from 144fps to 60fps and even 30fps locked due to v-sync?
I'm wandering if i'm best off just leaving gsync off and putting up with a bit of tearing when the frames spike... (as there's a huge range > 74 - 221 fps !!!!)
it looked pretty damn good in the tutorial level ^^ i wasn't noticing much tearing or fps spiking.

cheers,
rb

That's not how Vsync works. If your PC can generate 90fps for a scene then it will be 90fps not 60fps or anything else.
And the most important thing is see it yourself. If you cannot see it yourself and just want to know numbers there is no point. Every game behaves differently and it will behave differently on different setups and settings. The best thing to do is try changing settings and see for yourself. The only thing you would want to know that there are different...
"It makes the tears less noticeable because the next refresh is coming much faster. Gives the screen less time to display a jump from a torn frame. "

That sounds logical and if that's true then I'd leave it turned off.

No, it's saying that tears are still happening but the screen refresh is so high you shouldn't be able to see them/notice that they even happen. So like I said, leave v-sync turned off.

You can always try it with that option on, it won't cause (permanent) issues and you can always turn it off again.

cheers, i don't notice any tearing at 120fps upwards, it's just when it starts dipping down to 90fps that i begin to notice problems.
I'm wandering if it's unable to maintain 144fps locked will it default down to 60fps (vsync)?

I've always preferred playing without vsync as i find the input lag horrendous.

It's just; If my PC is unable to maintain a vsync locked 144fps, won't it instead default to a lower, locked hz.... like 120hz or 60hz e.t.c.?
I'd find it really annoying to jump from a stable 144hz vsynced to a 60hz vsync and then back up depending on the scene.

The only thing you would want to know that there are different options for vertical sync in Nvidia Control Panel which can be better than the game's default Vsync option.
