Hi people,

about 4 months ago I build my first PC with a friend, and it works absolutely brilliant, but I need a new CPU for the work I have to do on it (video editing and streaming for fun) but I have absolutely no idea if the CPU I have in mind will fit on my motherboard. I've looked for multiple guides and tutorials on how to check if it will fit but I just don't understand it.

If anybody could help me or tell me if the Intel i7-6800k (a 6-core CPU) will fit on my Asus z170 Pro Gaming motherboard I would be very thankful :)

Greetings,
Jack

the I7 6800K is an intel broadwell-E CPU not a skylake CPU like the I7 6700K. it will not fit because it uses an LGA 2011-3 socket

you never mentioned what your current CPU is but the only I7 CPU's that work with that mobo will be an intel I7 6700K or an i7 7700K with a BIOS update
