Z270 Motherboard integrated graphics - Black Screen

When I have dedicated GPU plugged in, the integrated HDMI works fine. When I remove it, I get a black screen (from onboard graphics). Tried to reset CMOS but issue remains.

ASUS Z270-k
i7700k
16 GB corsair vengeance

have you tried using a different port like trying to connect it using the VGA port?

Exactly. When I remove my dedicated GPU (RX 480) and plug the HDMI in onboard port, I have black screen. I was able to reset CMOS, but nothing changed. I also tried to leave the 480 on but unplugged from the extra 8-pin, and then the onboard was working properly....

are you using any kind of adapters on the HDMI cable?

No adapters. also tried with different cable.

the only other thing i can think of is to check for any BIOS updates, i had a weird problem getting my dedicated GPU to work right with my Asus H270 mobo until i updated the BIOS on it.

Yeah I have this on the back of my head but I really wanted it to be the last resort, especially because I know it works, I was using the onboard graphics before I purchased my current GPU. But if nothing else works I will give it a shot.
