I had a problem with choosing the category, hope this one is okay.

I wanna start with a fact that the PC in question is pretty old, 5-6 years. The RAM and graphics card are new.

During playing Path of Exile it randomly started emitting long beeps, they're irregular and don't have any pattern to them.We ignored it at first (thought it was the external HDD beeping, it does it sometimes), the PC crashed and didn't start up afterwards - it tried for about two seconds, everything lit up and the fans started up, and then it stopped and did it again, over and over, kind of right before the "startup beep".

We tried opening it up, removing RAM sticks, the graphics card and the battery, I also vacuumed it a bit. It works for now, but we heard it beep during playing PoE again, but it didn't crash this time. It works so far, but it's done that three times already, I would like to know what causes the problem so we could solve it.

Specs:
System Model: MS-7798
BIOS: BIOS Date: 04/20/12 14:14:44 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 12288MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 12220MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Display Memory: 4095 MB

Solution
Try using one RAM stick at a time. There is a possibility that one of the RAM sticks is bad. I know you said they are new, but I had an issue similar to this and it turned out to be the RAM.
