One out of 4 Sticks of RAM Does Not Light Up!

Hi all,

I have recently decided to make the move to DDR4 / Z270 platform.

Now, I do not have the processor installed, as this has not arrived.

However, I decided to boot up the computer anyway, to have a look at the pretty lights on my graphics card and RAM.

I was disappointed however, when one stick of RAM did not light up.

I swapped this stick of RAM around to see if it would work in another slot.

Unfortunately this is not the case and the RAM does not light up in any slot. The other modules light up perfectly in every slot.

Motherboard - MSI Z270 M5
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32GB (kit) (3000MHz)

Is this an issue involving the processor?
Is this due to a faulty motherboard?
Or does it look like I'm going to have the stick replaced?

Thank you!

It's probably just something wrong with that one ram stick. Does your BIOS detect the total ram? If not, then it's most likely a faulty stick.
