What is the best choice for a cpu

Solution
Honestly, at 60HZ I would buy a Ryzen 1600 it comes with a CPU cooler, which is capable of overclocking to 3.9-4.0GHz. Motherboards are under $100. The AM4 will allow you to upgrade to the next AMD CPU's. The 1060 6GB with Ryzen will have enough FPS to play any game at 60HZ no problems. There is only about a 10% difference between Ryzen and Intel in gaming, but a huge increase in multi-tasking for Ryzen. That would be my recommendation.

i7-7700k is the top of the line for socket 1151. The CPU it's self can not be upgraded, but I think you are asking if you can upgrade to a new CPU for motherboard in the future. Unlikely, the new skylake-X platform is LGA 2066, and not compatible with the board you are using with the i7 7700K.

What kind of gaming setup do you have? GPU matters more than CPU when it comes to gaming. Are you gaming at 60HZ, or higher, and at what resolution?
