I locked my laptop while I went out into my living room and I came back and tried to sign back in and the log in screen was frozen for a good 30 minutes. I pressed the off button on the laptop(I know I shouldn't)and when I turned it back on, everything was lost on my Chrome browser. All of my addons and apps were gone and I was signed out of everything. I still had downloads in the downloads tab so I tried to extract them to my download folder(for sims)and it said that I have an error (0x80070570) It won't let me save photos, it won't let me save drawings in paint or Photoshop, it won't let me delete anything I have downloaded. I'm honestly confused since this has never happened before, please help. :??:

Update: laptop won't even let me upload a profile photo on here. As soon as the file explorer opens Chrome crashes.

Update: tried to go into control panel and see if I could undownload anything, everything I try to undownload pop up comes up saying "Error writing temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid."

Update: I have a photo on my desktop and I clicked on it to see if it would open and a popup came up saying "COM Surrogate has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Solution
Open your file explorer. Where it says C: drive, right click on it. Go into properties, Tools and hit Error check. Let it scan and auto fix any errors.

Nah, it hasn't. It was a kind of cheap laptop(500 maybe?) and I've had it about 2 years. Could it just be getting old?

Electronics don't "get old," they work or they don't. I mean you can try repairing/reinstalling the OS or checking for a virus or something. When CPUs and motherboards the system shouldn't even be able to turn on. Failing GPUs, hard drives, and RAM are the only things that the system can kind of run on, but gpus only produce artifacting and RAM very seldom fails. It's probably either a software issue or your hard drive would be my guess.

It won't even let me factory reset. I'm getting extremely desperate considering I'm supposed to start online schooling in a couple of days. Should I just order another laptop?
