PSU: Seasonic G-series VS Corsair RMx series

Hi,

I am choosing a PSU and I wonder which is better: Seasonic G-550 or Corsair RM550x (about same price I see). In general, Seasonic G-series or Corsair RMx series?

Both are 80 plus gold. It says that the fan of the Corsair is not spinning at low-mid loads (0 RPM) while the one of the Seasonic is always spinning (even in Silent Mode at low-mid loads). Besides, the Corsair is fully modular while the Seasonic is semi modular. 10 vs 5 years warranty also for Seasonic.

So it seems that the Corsair is superior. Am I missing something (components/build quality...) in favour of the Seasonic, or this time Corsair made it better (that sounds strange to me)?

The Corsair RMx is a better build quality and electrical performing power supply than the Seasonic G.

Dont choose off brands, its pointless. All have their lemons and their great units and most brands don't actually create most of the internals in the PSU. Corsair has numerous of better units than Seasonic, vise versa.

Yes, you're right. Just to know another opinion.

By the way, unfortunately the minimum PSU power in RMx series is 550W and I don't want to pay for something too oversized. I'm thinking now that the G series with 450W may be enough for my rig (i5 7600K + GTX 1050 + 8GB DDR4 + HDD + SSD).

In Spain. I don't have a strict budget (in this range of prices), just looking for something with good quality and not to paying for too much power if the PC is not going to even get close to it.

Seasonic G-450 - 86.95 €
Seasonic G-550 - 95.95 €
Corsair RM550x - 99 €

Yeah it won't get anywhere close to that much power, so it's up to you.
