so i have been looking for motherboards and the one i have found is compatible with all the parts i have, the only thing im worried about is the size of the backplate and whether or not it will fit on my pc tower.

are all backplates the same size or does the outlet on your tower have to be the exact size of the backplate, sorry if this is a stupid question, i am new to pc building

this is my current motherboard - https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GA-78LMT-S2-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard/dp/B008TZZ4WC

this is the motherboard i am planning on getting - https://www.amazon.com/LGA1151-Micro-Motherboards-B150M-PLUS-D3/dp/B016A459GO

Solution
Retail "backplates" or IO shields are all standardized. They all fit all retail cases. If your old board's IO shield fit your case, the new board's will too.
