with the current prices of gpus my only options are those two

specifically this gt 1030 at 90 dollars, locally sold

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-6333-KR

and this rx 550 at 100

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-550-AERO-ITX-2G-OC.html#hero-overview

i have no information on that specific model of evga gt 1030, if anyone has it and can tell me how good or bad it is, would be great

i wish i could buy a rx560, but prices are way crazy now at 130 for 2 gbs version, closest gtx 1050 is 150 here

that is why i find the local deal of the gt1030 interesting but the rx, i do like more amd

any opinion is appreciated

Yeah prices are going to be bad for a while it looks like. Of the two, the 1030 is shown to be faster. Of course, we are talking low end faster. In esports games, it's going to be fine. In demanding AAA games, you'll need to reduce settings and resolution. So AMD or Nvidia here is about the same from a practical standpoint.

That EVGA is their actively cooled model, they also have a passively cooled model. For gaming, get the active(the one you linked). For a media center you'd probably want the passive one since it's quieter.

unfortunatelly, no rx460, only a expensive 2 gb rx560

my goal is play some games, particularly gta v and other two, light games, in fact the heaviest would be gta, the r7 250 is doing just fine but under 720p, so this will be a massive improvement, at least double the r7 and the r7 keeps me happy

atm sapphire rx 560 2gb is the only i find at 130, closest gtx 1050 is 150

found a rx570 at 400, can't jump that high :(

that or a gt 730 at 90 dollars!

i hope the evga gt 1030 is not noisy, the r7 is very decent on that, i wish i could get a better budget to get the rx 560 but limited budget for basic gaming pc is a reality, a decent reality, is doing just great here, i want it to be more stable under load, that's it

thank you for replies, if anyone has info on the gt1030 from evga, noise and performance, that it expect to be basically like my old gtx 750ti but with lower power consumption and heat, that would be great

that 750 is here on my house but is on a different build used for a different purpose, a build from a couple years ago updated last year with great results, so is not my personal gaming pc, so i build another for me this year based on my old pc, with low budget, is what i could afford, but can't honestly complain at all, it behaves well, but the r7 i bought, i planned to give it to a nephew, and i will keep this 1030 for some time

alread bought the 1030 this morning, already installed it, is very silent, if you haven't had it on your hand, is even smaller than on the pictures, in picture looks enormous, in reality is more than a sff card, very short in both length and width, but the plastic shield for the heatsink and fan makes it use 1.5 slots, so i can't use the pci x1 slot under it on this micro atx mainboard, and the old pci slot is a bit near to the fan for my preference, i was planning to use a old wifi card, just for fun but i think it won't happen, can't even find it here :D

the fan is around 1 inch width so should be noisy, but i can't hear it spin, will try to run unigine to see how well it runs, compared to the r7, at least

thanks for the replies

well, the fan is dead silent until gpu gets hot and then sounds like a laptop overheated, great :/

it is alot more fast than my old r7, perhaps twice as fast, works like a gtx 750 ti more or less, i am still trying to find a sweet spot with the settings on gta v, so far i like what i see but i wouldn't recommend anyone buying this model, get the one with the big fan unless you need a sff model, small fans haven't changed and no fan curve alleviate their noisy operation
