Hi there,

I have a z170-a Asus motherboard.

I decided to install windows 7 on my PC that has been running windows 10. I know about the driver issues that prevent you from using usb devices during the windows 7 installation and so I used the Asus EZ installer to create a bootable drive with the USB 3.0 drivers on it, from a legit windows 7 cd I have.

I am fresh installing windows 7, so I have formatted both my HDD and SSD and deleted all the partitions. I usually use Diskpart during the windows installation to make my entire HDD a logical partition so as to avoid any windows files loading onto it.

However after the "successful" installation of windows, it restarts and I get a error screen.

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" asking me to boot normally or safe mode etc etc.

Then I get the same message except prompting me to insert my windows installation disk and repair my computer, an option I can't complete seeing as the USB bootable does not allow me to repair (their is no option) and my PC does not have a disk drive.

Below that is "Status: 0xc0000225"
"Info: An unexpected error occurred"

If relevant, I have completely default BIOS settings.

I have another old rig to work with, any help would be appreciated, pretty tired of all this.
Thanks
Billy
