I've been getting this error after all I did was change out my heatsink.
"Reboot and select proper boot device"
motherboard: B250m pro-vd
cpu: pentium g4600
graphics card: gtx 1050ti
8 gb of ram
350w power supply
1 tb hard drive

Solution
Did you have to remove your SATA cables to get at the heatsink?

Are your HDD/SSDs connected? If so, is the correct "boot manager" set as priority #1 in the BIOS?
