Hello Everyone!!

I previously built a new computer in 2014 and it's starting to become a bit outdated and slow regarding some games with lots of crashing even when on Low graphic settings for certain games... plus it's doing some weird thing where it keeps booting to the UEFI settings.I am looking to build a new one with some upgraded parts!! Although I am wondering on some opinions! These computers are PRIMARILY web surfing and gaming computers. I play GTA5, PUBG, League of Legends, RUST, Overwatch, Diablo, The Sims,... and also i stream as well.

  • This is my Current Build

    Intel - Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

    Motherboard - ASRock - Z77 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

    Memory - G.Skill - Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Hard drive - SanDisk SSD PLUS 480GB + 1TB Western Digital Hard drive.

Graphics Card: PNY - GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card

Case: Thermaltake Case White (Can't remember the exact model of it.)

    Power Supply - Corsair - CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX

    Optical Drive - Samsung - SH-118BB DVD/CD Drive

I am looking to build a new one with some better parts. Here is what i am thinking but it's a bit expensive and i'm wondering where i can cut some costs on some of the less important pieces.

this is at just barely 1,000 dollars. I plan on moving my SSD and Powersupply from my current build over to my new computer - just in case you were wondering why they are missing from this build... what are your thoughts?? it's a bit too expensive.. I'm not trying to over spend... but i want something that's good and gonna last for a bit and those new GTX cards are amazing. Also I already have a wifi card / direct ethernet connection. don't think i need the DVD drive anymore either.

Well streaming itself is pretty intensive, especially if you want to do it in 1080p. It has to maintain he game on your end, then transcode the game in the background, send the trasnscode thru the internet..that a lot of work or a CPU...the thing is though, it is doing it all at the time. So again, those extra to cores will really help. AMD's instructions per clock is better than the old FX series.
So no point in upgrading if you are still going to use older tech. Yes, the 6700K is pretty powerful, but there are new chips out there, like a 6 core, 12-thread unlocked 1600. I also don't see why you would get a new case. That can save you $40 right there. Instead of getting the i7, you saved $100, so that upgrades you to a GTX 1080. Your current PSU is a bit of poor quality. I would recommend upgrading..plus you get a 5 year warranty. If streaming is what you do, then the Ryzen 1600 is something you need to look into.

Are AMD cpu worth getting over an Intel? i want something that is going to be good and last a while. ihad a bad experience a few years ago with an AMD and i'm kinda nervous to get one. i feel like theyre not as reliable.

Yes, times have changed. Ryzen is making Intel having competition for the first time in 5 years. So if I had a choice, I would go with ryzen. It's great. Now just know that you do lose a BIT of performance in gaming, however, it's nothing truly major. Maybe 5-6 FPS. However, when it comes to editing and streaming, Ryzen is what you want to have. Don't believe me? Just read the benchmarks and watch the reviews on YouTube.

I dont do any editing at all whatsoever regarding my stream. it's a very amateur stream. Just streaming to twitch and that's it. nothing major intensive on a cpu besides just getting it to stream side by side with my games.

i'll look into the Ryzen it seems to have good benchmark compared to some of the Intel. but i definitely think i need a CPU upgrade. my current cpu is dust.

so you would choose the AMD 1600 over the very similarly priced Intel i5 7600k??

Yes I wold get the 1600 anyday if possible. If you wanted to stream, you should have no problem.
