I have had my computer for about 4 years now, the only upgrade I've made so far is the graphics card as it was pretty out of date, but aside from that I’m not sure what else I should upgrade so it meets my needs. It can currently run games fine, I would like to increase frame rate as it only goes between 69-70, but mainly I’m looking to stream/ record for YouTube at a good quality.

I currently have:
Motherboard: Asus Z97M-Plus
Power supply: Corsair vs550
Processor: Intel 4 core i5-4690 @ 3.50GHz
Graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 superclocked
Ram: Kingston Hyperx 8 GB, 1600MHz

For any other details, feel free to ask!
Thanks in advance :)

Solution
a 1070 is good for 100+ fps in 1080p. so what res r u playing at? GPU wise, a 1080 or 1080ti is the next step.
would ask u to monitor cpu/gpu usage while gaming to understand which is more important for the games u play.

streaming is more cpu intensive than recording, so i would suggest an i7 upgrade.
u got a z series mobo. so look for a i7 4790k and call it a day :)
ur PSU is really subpar. would recommend to change it to a cxm550W or any other good PSU asap.
having a SSD is nice if u havent got one. reduces loading times and makes u look cool while streaming ;)

sorry for the very late reply, thanks for the advice. would you be able to send me some links (if possible UK links for things like amazon) to point me in the right direction for it, thanks :)

U still haven't answered which monitor u r using. 2k res? 144hz?
If you have a 1080p 144hz, just upgrade ur cpu and cooler with psu. If you have a 2k monitor, get the 1080ti :

thanks for links i really appreciate it. for the monitor i have at the moment, it is an iiyama prolite e2273hds, i'm looking to get another one for chat and stuff for streaming, is there any you would recommend or would you say to get a better monitor as my main one as I think its only like 70htz. when i play games my task manager says im using about 50-70% of my cpu and about 85 of my memory and this is before i have obs open to stream or record. would that mean i would also need to up my ram(im only at 8). if so what is the max my rig can take and what ram would you suggest

ok thank you so much for your help, why 2x4 out of curiosity, i currently only have 1x8gb. and can my mobo handle that ram

The cpu supports dual channel memory and that increase memory performance by almost 10% as against a single stick.

Regarding Z97 3000mhz ram support, it's possible with enabling xmp profile. 3000mhz may ask you to overclock the cpu a bit high. But I am certain you can run it at 2933mhz.

alright thanks for the advice, you were really helpful. I'll be ordering them soon :) would it be worth getting 2 8gb 1866mhz ram rather than another 8gb 1600mhz or would there not really be that big of a difference
