Do I need a soundcard

I'm building a gaming PC mainly for FPS games so I will be getting a gaming headset (Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum most likely) and I was wondering that if I would need a separate soundcard when I have the Asus - PRIME Z270-P Motherboard. Would a soundcard improve headset sound quality? I will record gameplay so will a soundcard affect the audio gameplay recording quality? If I do need a soundcard, which one should I get (for FPS games)?

no. mobo onboard sound nowadays is excellent....you have to be a audiophile interested in waveforms and resonence amplitude stuff for a soundcard to be useful. as ksham said you need those $1000 headphone/monitor units that producers use to hear any difference.
