Laptop lag spikes in games

Can anyone suggest a solution to fix lag spikes in laptop when playing games?Its so frustrating and happens in every game even in games like cs cz. i have tried every solution to fix this but it just doesn't work. It doesnt happen for few minutes after starting game right after booting laptop then after 5 minutes or so game suddenly starts lagging every few seconds, game fps suddenly drops to 7-10 fps then goes back up to 50-60 fps.

Specs for laptop:
Intel hd 3000
Intel core i3-2328m
8gb ram

Do you have a Laptop cooling pad, pretty much its a fan pad to get more air into your system. and if your system is over clock try to tune it down to stop excessive heating. As i have a gaming laptop i know how high heating can cause games to crash and freeze.

Most probably a heat issue,it's working fine as long as it's cool then it raises fast due to the game and starts to throttle(slow down) the CPU to prevent damage to it.
