Hi,

I have a windows 7 laptop and I went to "Control Panel, Updates, Check for updates", and I check for updates but it takes a long time to find updates on my laptop its 64 bit.
And at the end of the update scan it does not find any updates at all. The last update on the computer was in 2016. And did not find any updates since..

I have all the basic security like AVG and Malware, CC cleaner.

Please help. Thanks

Something is wrong. I have a Win7 PC and get updates several times a month. There was one just a few days ago. You need to get your Win7 updates ASAP... especially the security updates. I would not use that laptop on the internet again until it is updated.

You need to go into your update file history and see what the last "KB" number update was and get every single one installed after that. You are WAY behind and will have hundreds of MB worth to do if not near a GB depending on how long ago in 2016 your last update was. I had to go through this in an old Vista build last year for about 90 updates. Warning: it is a long and time consuming process.

See this link for detailed troubleshooting and instructions.

You'll have to keep that laptop on overnight once it is "triggered" to fetch all the updates to get them all (make sure the settings are not to power down and only to have the display go to sleep overnight while updating). Also make sure Windows firewall is turned OFF.
