So just today i bought a TP-Link AV600 Power line adapter for my PC. i get it all set up and paired and it doesn't show up on my PC, only my wireless connection does. so i plug it into my ps4 (whilst it is still in the same port as it would be when i used my PC) and it works. i get a wired connection. so i got into my device management and check to see if the WAN miniport drivers are up to date and they are all updated. i go into control panel and check for windows updates and install them and reboot my PC. but the wired connection still isn't appearing on my PC's connection list. help please?

Hello, i have been looking up my problem and i have fixed it my self :) if anyone is having the same problem what i recommend doing is checking what motherboard you have and then going to the manufacturers website and download the LAN drivers from there.

On your PC did you disable the wireless adapter and enable the wired adapter?

Try another known working ethernet cable between your PC ethernet port and the Powerline adapter.

Double check your ethernet adapter's configuration. May be configured (for example) to get its' DHCP IP from some other non-existent router.

Hello. thanks for your reply

i am currently just using the Ethernet port that is on the back of my motherboard if that helps. the Ethernet cable i am using works as i have used it in my ps4 which worked with no problems.
i also haven't disabled or enabled any of my wireless and wired adapters as i have always been using a wireless connection. This is my first time using a wired connection.
i also don't know how to check my Ethernet adapters configuration but when i go into device managers and then into other the "Ethernet controller" has a yellow triangle next to it and when i try to update the drivers it just says "windows was unable to install your Ethernet controller. windows could not find driver software for your device"
have you got any other ideas?
