Hey, we bought a desktop a few months ago, and decided to upgrade it with a new graphics card, unfortunately the screen goes black whenever the new graphics card is installed, but when it's taken out, it works perfectly.

The built-in graphics card is
Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)

The graphics card I'm trying to install is
EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Whenever the graphics card is placed in, and the computer is turned on, the fan starts to spin, the computer turns on, and the screen turns black, no mouse, no anything.

(Fan that starts to spin is from the new graphics card.)

Solution
Sounds like you need to change the default display adapter settings in the BIOS. So remove the 1050 Ti and boot to BIOS. Somewhere you will see 'Default Display Adapter' or something similar and you will want to select 'PCIE' or 'PEG' for that setting.
