I am looking for a new graphics card to improve my gaming experience while I work on planning a new computer build (graphics card will stay with old system).

I have: ASRock M3A770DE AM3 770 ATX motherboard, Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition (quad core, 3.7 ghz, AM3, 125w), 500w power supply, and a mid-tower case. Currently rocking a HIS Radeon HD 6770, 1GB, 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express.

Thank you in advance.

Prices are ridiculous for any higher end card right now. This is due to the crypto mining demand. Get a new GeForce GTX 1050 2GB or used GeForce GTX 960 4GB. Anything higher is a waste. Except of the GeForce GTX 1080 which hasn't been effected much, yet.

If you're into taking walks on the wild side, I've seen some ridiculous good luck on eBay with used cards.
My brother got an EVGA GTX 970 4GB for 250 (incl S&H). People are upgrading to the 10xx series and dumping the previous cards for low prices pretty often.
Worth taking a look if nothing else. Good luck on that.
