CPU stuck to heatsink, unable to seperate?

I’m cleaning out my PC and haven’t replaced the default thermal paste for awhile. The CPU is an AMD 8320. I’m trying to remove it from the heatsink and put some new paste on. The problem is, it’s stuck. Like, *really* stuck. When pulling the heatsink off, it pulled the CPU straight out with it. I’m very worried that the socket or the pins might be damaged, but so far everything looks fine. I’ve tried putting 70% rubbing alcohol with coffee filters, but I’ve only been able to get the paste around the edges off. I’ve tried toothpicks and floss, but I can’t get between the CPU and heatsink. I’ve tried heating it up with a hairdryer, but I don’t know when hot is hot enough. So far, it hasn’t worked. The whole time I’ve been twisting the CPU, I’m too afraid to try to rip it straight off. Soaking it in rubbing alcohol seems ideal in theory, but I’m afraid it might damage the processor. I’m at my wits end, after fumbling for almost two hours. Does anyone here have any helpful advice to fix this issue?

How to uninstall and install an AMD processor and a heatsink / fan in a system

Note! Twist in a clock and anti-clockwise rotational direction, which creates a shear force in the thermal interface. Failure to break the adhesion seal between the HSF and the processor may result in pulling the processor out of the socket, possibly resulting in processor and / or socket damage.

I have tried putting it back in, but the heatsink covers the lock on the socket, so I am unable to get it back in the PC without removing the heatsink first.

Your best option is to continue trying to heat up the paste with a hair dryer. Try propping everything into a hand-free setup, and leave it be for awhile. Point the hair dryer at the heatsink, not directly at the cpu. Put the hair dryer on low so it doesn't over-heat.
