Hello everyone,
I have a power-line network set up for my upstairs PC as the dual band will not reach it from the basement and I like speed (who doesn't?). However, it kind of sucks. It will connect, but every time I use the internet on the computer connected to the power-line network, it disconnects and reconnects after a few seconds. It makes even normal internet searches almost impossible. I think it might have something to do with that the adapters are not on the same circuit, but I cant do anything about that. Another note is that the router is always very hot. I use the TP-Link AV1000 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAD6H5GN9259&cm_re=tl-pa7020-_-33-704-305-_-Product) and an ASRock Z97 PRO4 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V5AJ4695&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) (damn that went up in price). Any help or solutions are greatly appreciated. If you think its broke, I still have the warranty.

I proped up the router so that it could get more air, but nothing changed, besides the router getting a bit cooler. I don't think its cutting signals anyway, because the wifi would be just as poor (the wifi works fine, as does the comkputer pluged in to the router diretly).

It works perfectly this way, so well that it was almost as fast as being plugged directly into the router... I'm no electrician, so the circuits are staying right where they are. Do you know of any way to loophole this, or is WiFi my destiny?

Hey I actually found that was wrong.
Also attached to my power line is an old PC that I brought from the dead (by installing linux) to dedicate from folding. I usually would not look at what this zombie computer was outputting because i trusted it to be running, and I just left it on. When I went to check on it, I remembered why we stopped using it. It constantly froze, and for whatever reason, whenever it froze, it took my power line with it. Now my zombie computer has died, er... again, and the power line gives me no more trouble.
