So, I've never been on this website before and I've been getting desperate for answers on how to fix my pc cause I'm not a smart person when it comes to PCs. I have a GTX 980 and an Intel Core I5 and everything was fine when I first got it obviously. A month into getting my new PC, I accidentally downloaded a virus and malware onto my computer. I removed it in April with help from my brother by resetting my pc entirely. The virus and malware was deleted but now when I run games like Witcher 3, Overwatch, CSGO, I get low fps and my pc crashes, it doesn't blackscreen, it just freezes.

I'm really confused as to what the hell is going on with my pc because I thought the reset would fix my pc but instead, it seems to have made it worse in my opinion. It really sucks for me cause I can't play games like CSGO with my friends and I'm limited to only League of Legends. My friend told me it might be a problem with my CPU and another friend told me it might be a failing part in my pc (hopefully not).

If anyone can please help me with this I would be very grateful. Also, like I said I'm not smart with PCs so please try to be as simple as possible when telling me how to fix this problem. Thanks.

Yes. It was an accident on my part. I thought it was an i5 but it turned out to be an i7.

So just as an update, I was on League of Legends and clicked on a YouTube link the developers advertised and my PC froze the minute I got on the site, so I've discovered it isn't just in-game that my PC crashes, it just crashes in general.
